Tim Walker- Make Do and Mend

I just saw these is the last issue of British Vogue and really loved it. The outfits remind me a lot of the challenge in project runway when they had to design something using only things from the grocery store. I always love Tim Walkers photography too, its always very whimsical and dream-like.

In Bloom

When I was walking home I saw these flowers growing on a tree and thought they were really bizarre and pretty. They almost don't look real, they're so different... Just curious if anyone knows what they are?

Got to go to H&M today, there's only one in the area so its exciting when I get to go. Last time I was really dissapointed by what they had, but this time I couldn't decide what to get! I ended up with these:
Black pompom Hat

Floral Jacket

Sweater
The hat was on sale for 5$ which is AMAZING. I think I'm going to learn to knit since I keep buying so many sweaters and knit hats, I could probably save a lot of money if I could make my own...

After H&M I went to Barnes and Noble in the hopes of finding Lula, but they couldn't find it even though the computer said that it was in stock, it was very strange. Since they didn't have Lula I bought Lucky and British Vogue. Then sat with a cup of coffee and apple fritter and read them. I really liked Sienna Miller's cover of British Vogue, she looks so naturally pretty. They let her freckles show through and I think that's so much prettier than when people try to hide them.

I had a really wonderful day today, how was yours?
XOXO,
Claire

Zooey Deschanel

You should have seen me when I saw that people have acually left comments for me, I let out a horrible squeal and had a huge goofy grin. I'm so excited to see that people are actually starting to look at my blog! Thanks to everyone who left a comment or added me, I LOVE YOU!

Zooey Deschanel is probably my biggest style inspiration and I might just have a bit of a girl crush on her. She always looks really put together in vintage looking dresses and of course, tights. Her style suits her quirky personality so well, along with flattering her figure. The outfits are always super feminine and modest. When my hair grows out I hope it will look like hers...

Zooey Deschanel designed sunglasses for Oliver Peoples.

My Top 5 Makeup Picks

I couldn't think of anything to write so here are my absolute favorite makeup picks.

1. Kiss My Face Lip Balm- Treat Mint
It makes your lips all tingly and smells great. Plus it has sunscreen in it.

2. Bare Escentuals Foundation
Super blendable and doesn't make me breakout. Also has sunscreen in it.

3. Almay Mascara
Easy to apply and not too expensive.

4. Neutrogena Ultra Sport Sunblock
Sensing a pattern? I'm pale and try to wear sunscreen every day, this doesn't stink like most sunscreen and isn't greasy.

5. Blush
No particular brand for this one. When I don't wear blush I look sickly and washed out, so blush is a must for me.

With all of my makeup I try to buy brands that don't test on animals. When possible I also try to buy organic and vegan products.

OPI Matte

I decided to try out the new OPI Matte polish since every magazine and website has featured it. I bought it in Russian Navy. I'm on the fence about whether or not I like it. One of my best friends said it looked like I colored my nails with a sharpie and my mom said it looks like water colors when they're still in the little pots. So apparently no one I know likes it, but I think it's kind of cool and definitely unique, however I'm not sure that I would buy it again.

I adore all the clothes at anthropologie. The outfits are always so cute, I especially love all the chunky sweaters paired with skinny pants or girly skirts (so perfect for fall). It's always exciting to get one of their catalogs in the mail to see the newest clothes.

These boots from Modcloth are so gorgeous. They would look so great with a girly dress, long sweater, and tights. If only I could afford them... Maybe I could find a similar pair at a thrift store somewhere.

Erin Fetherston and School Clothes

I rediscovered the Erin Fetherston videos today. You've probably seen the ones with Kirsten Dunst,  Zooey Deschanel, and the one for her Target line. The newest one for her Fall/Winter collection is super cute as usual. Here it is if you're curious...

I've been busy trying to find the perfect clothes for back to school. I got this shirt in pink the other day:

And this sweater:

I still need to get warm tights, boots, and maybe a new cozy coat. I love back to school just because it's a great excuse for buying more clothes without anyone saying I'm a shopaholic (which may or may not be true).
